According to news reports, a vaccine for skin cancer is being developed which may be available in approximately five to ten years. The vaccine is being created by Australian Professor Ian Frazer, the same scientist who developed a similar treatment for cervical cancer.

The shot would protect people against the second most common form of skin cancer, squamous cell carcinoma.
