The company was founded by LA Gear founder Robert Greenberg after he was removed from his board position in 1992. Skechers was originally a distributor for Dr. Martens before launching their own show line in 1995. Skechers started by selling boots and skate shoes, but eventually started to market a wide variety footwear styles with multiple brands.
