One of the most popular new pro skaters added as a playable character in Skate 2 is Marc Johnson, winner of 2007's Thrasher Skater of the Year award. Johnson was featured prominently in the skateboarding video Fully Flared, which was produced by the shoe company Lakai, and has been referred to as the "most anticipated skate video of all time."Google Video: Lakai - Fully Flared Johnson was featured in the last section of the video, which, in skateboarding films, typically is reserved for the best skater and the best segment.

Johnson has an idiosyncratically philosophical view of skateboarding and the universe, for which he is particularly well known.
