Sixwire is a country music band that starred in the FOX reality show The Next Great American Band. They were the runners-up. The band is made up of Andy Childs, Robb Houston, John Howard, Steve Mandile and Chuck Tilley. The band formed in 2000, but it wasn't until 2002 that they signed with Warner Bros. Records. Their debut single "Look At Me Now" peaked at number 30 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles and Tracks chart. There album peaked at number 38 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart in 2002.
Before the band formed, Childs had a solo career from 1993 to 1994. In that time he released one solo album and three singles. In addition, Mandile wrote songs for Phil Vassar and Tim McGraw.
