Sixteen Candles is a 1984 teen comedy film, directed by John Hughes and starring Molly Ringwald, Michael Schoeffling and Anthony Michael Hall.
The story is about a teenage girl named Samantha who has a crush on a boy, who in her mind, doesn't even know she exists. However, not only does the boy know she exist, he also knows that she has a crush on him and has been thinking about her a lot lately. Her friends don't have a clue on what to do. Some geek wants to take her to bed to show to his friends that he is King of the lovers. Samantha's parents are going nuts because her sister is getting married to an idiot. Other relatives are wandering all through the house in their under wear. There is a weird horny Chinese guy running around the house. To make matters even worse, it is Samantha's 16th birthday and no one remembers. This movie is about a crazy 24 hours where anything can happen, and does. The film is a great ride down 80's memory lane.http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088128/usercomments
