Reports of My Death...
In March of 2007, an erroneous edit on the online, publicly editable encyclopedia Wikipedia reported that Sinbad had died of a heart attack. The news spread rapidly around the world, resulting in a torrent of condolence messages, blog posts, and media coverage. Wikipedia corrected the mistake, but visitors to the site repeatedly undid the correction, believing the news they heard to be true. Wikipedia eventually had to prohibit changes to Sinbad's page, and as of this writing the comedian is alive and well. -
