• Sin City is American comic book artist/writer Frank Miller's series of graphic novels and films known for their Noir sensibilities, graphic violence, and stark visual style. The film adaptation of Sin City follows a three different intersecting vignettes, which are detailed below.

• The Hard Goodbye

  Marv (Mickey Rourke) is an extremely powerful, hulking tough guy on parole for his past crimes. He has to take medication constantly in order to resist his first inclination: to become a “psycho killer.” Marv wakes up next to the dead body of his beloved prostitute Goldie (Jamie King), and sets out on a mission to find and repay her killer. Through his investigation he learns of Kevin (Elijah Wood), a bespectacled silent killer with a penchant for eating female prostitutes.

• That Yellow Bastard

  John Hartigan (Bruce Willis), saves Nancy Callahan (Jessica Alba) from the sinister rapist Rourke Jr./Yellow Bastard (Nick Stahl), for which he is actually scapegoated and does jail time. When Hartigan gets out of jail twelve years later, he reunites with Callahan, who soon reveals that she has built up a romantic interest in Hartigan.

• The Big Fat Kill

  Dwight (Clive Owen) is caught in the middle of the ongoing rivalry between the cops and the militant prostitutes when he witnesses Miho (Devon Aoki) killing Jackie Boy (Benicio Del Toro), who attacked one of their fellow prostitutes. Dwight and his female companion Gail (Rosario Dawson) must then quickly dispose of the body before the cops find it, or a war will break out between the two groups.
