Simply Red

Categories: Entertainment | Music | Indie
  • Simply Red is a British band that was formed by Mick "Red" Hucknall in the mid-'80s after playing in the punk group The Frantic Elevators for nearly a decade. Their first big hit was "Holding Back the Years," a pop remake of an Elevators song. Another smash single was their cover of "If You Don't Know Me By Now" off their 1989 album A New Flame.

After 25 years, Hucknall decided that it is time for Simply Red to come to an end, announcing that their 2009 tour would be their last. Their final album, Stay, was released in 2007.
