  • Simon Gagné was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers during the 1998 National Hockey League entry draft. He finished out his junior year, attended Flyers training camp and was invited directly onto the team without spending any time in the minors.

    During his rookie year, Gagné earned 48 points in the regular season and ten points in 17 playoff games. He has remained with the Flyers throughout his career, earning a spot on the top line and a role as Assistant Captain of the team.

  • Awards

    As a Philadelphia Flyer, Gagné won the Toyota Cup, which is awarded to the player with the most points for star of the game selections during the regular season, in 2002, 2006 and 2007. He was selected as the team's MVP award to win the Bobby Clarke Trophy in 2006 and 2007.

    Gagné represented Team Canada at the 2002 and 2006 Winter Olympics, and earned a gold medal along with his team in 2002. He also joined his home country to win a silver medal at the 2005 IIHF World Championship of Hockey and place first at the 2004 World Cup of Hockey.
