  • Australian rockers Silverchair had the distinction of achieving worldwide fame when the band members were still teenagers. Winning an Australian radio/TV competition led to an American record deal for the band; soon the song "Tomorrow" was being played extensively on United States radio stations and their first album, Frogstomp (which was recorded when they were 15 years old), was a multi-platinum success.

Silverchair continued recording and became a consistent success in Australia. After a brief hiatus, they returned to the studio to record Young Modern, an album that included the single "Straight Lines."
