The Power Cosmic
In order to save his homeworld from the cosmic world-devouring being known as Galactus, Norrin Radd volunteered to serve as his herald and find other planets for Galactus to feed upon. Galactus in turn gave Radd a fraction of his power, called the Power Cosmic. It gives Radd incredible strength, the ability to fire beams of energy from his hands, a silver coating that protects him from harm and allows for interstellar travel, and a telepathic link to his silver surfboard, which can fly through space at light speed. The extent of the Power Cosmic in the Silver Surfer has never been tested to its fullest extent, but it is believed to be such a great power on a godlike scale that the Silver Surfer may even be able to create life if he so chooses. One thing is certain, though: of all of Galactus' living heralds, the Silver Surfer is by far the most powerful. -
