Silkk is currently working on a new album, and a DVD featuring Lil Duval which is titled More Money More Family and is scheduled for release in 2008.

Early Career Silkk The Shocker came to fame after releasing the album The Shocker in 1996 on his brothers record label No Limit Records. Even without airplay or video, the album went platinum which is an incredible feat for any indie label. He then was featured various projects which include the "Bout it Bout it" soundtrack, Tru's "Tru 2 da Game", Mia X's "Unlady Like" and Mystikal's "Unpredictable".

In 1998, Silkk would appear on the hit "Make Em' Say Ugh!" with Master P. He then released a single featuring Mystikal called "It Ain't My Fault" from his second album "Charge It To The Game". This hit would go on to be famous in the streets and become his signature song. He would later contribute to what was then a new group, Destiny's Child song "Just Be Straight" and the second single from the debut album from Mya, "Movin' On."

In 1999, after the success of "Movin' On", Mya and Silkk The Shocker collaborated once again on "Somebody Like Me", the lead single from Silkk's Man Made album. That song went on to become one of the years top selling singles on the Billboard charts.

In 2001, Silkk made the album My World, My Way which had limited success. He followed it up with the 2004 album Based on a True Story. Though neither album came to know the success of previous work by Silkk, they both managed to sell fairly well.

Gun Charges In February 2005, Silkk The Shocker and his brother Master P were charged with felony gun charges. In March 2006, they both pled no contest to having unregistered guns and after a plea agreement had the charges dropped to a misdemeanor and were sentenced to 3 years of probation, ordered to pay a $750 fine and perform 40 hours of community service.
