Silas Marner is British author George Eliot's novel of love and redemption set in a small religious community.
Plot Synopsis
Silas Marner depicts a man who, following an unexpected betrayal and being wrongly accused of theft, is ostracized by his community and turns to hoarding money to satisfy his wounded soul... until his gold is stolen. The arrival of an orphan girl brings hope back to his life, but when it is revealed years later that the girl is actually the daughter of Silas' betrayer, only love and loyalty will decide the day.
