Sigma DP1 Reviews Reviews
- LetsGoDigital: Sigma DP1 Hands-On
- This review is based on a pre-production model and discusses compact nature and fixed focal lens. "The back of the camera shows a button assuming a zoom function. However the introduction clearly stated that the Sigma DP1 will not carry an optical zoom lens, only a fixed focal length of f/4 16.6 mm, equivalent to 28mm on a 35mm camera. It would have been great to see a brighter lens on the DP1, but this would not be possible without changing the dimensions of the camera."
- Digital Photograpy Review: Sigma DP1
- Gives an indepth Product Summary of the DP1.."Large size image sensor takes advantage of larger pixels. So far point and shoot digital cameras incorporated small size image sensors, and researches for increasing the number of pixels by keeping the image sensor small is still continuing. However, there are limitations in these researches, because keeping image sensor size small will result poor capture of the light poorly. In this respect, enlarging the image sensor will result in better capturing color signals."
- ePhotoZine: Sigma SD14 & DP1 Hands On Preview Digital Camera Review
- Based on a show model..."The one feature that was disappointing is the lack of an optical viewfinder but, having said that, the rest of the camera showed a quality of build not normally associated with compacts and the choice of a single focal length lens will give the ability, combined with the Foveon sensor, of an image quality not previously seen in a digital compact."
