Sierra Trading Post was founded in 1986 by Owner Keith Richardson in Reno, Nevada. The company purchases name-brand overstocks and closeouts and passes on the saving to their customers.
Currently the company has four retail stores in Boise, Idaho, Reno, Nevada, Cheyenne and Cody, Wyoming, and two customer service call centers in Cheyenne and Cody. Their corporate facilities is located in Cheyenne Wyoming with about 500,000 square feet.
Sierra Trading Post catalogs have expanded since its founding in 1986 from the initial 16-page catalog mailing of 100,000 to nine catalog titles with an annual circulation in the tens of millions.
