• A Short History

  In the 1800s and early 1900s, shorts were originally created for young boys until they reached a certain age of maturity and were then given a pair of pants. They were not worn by men nor women. It wasn't until later in the 20th century that shorts began to not only cross age barriers but also sex, and while the wearing of shorts is very common in the U.S., countries in areas such as the Middle East consider it taboo for anyone but young boys to wear shorts.
