Shoeless Joe Jackson was a Major League Baseball player during the early 20th Century. He is forever banned from baseball and is ineligible for the Hall of Fame for his alleged participation in the 1919 World Series Scandal.
Black Sox Scandal
Jackson and seven other players of the 1919 Chicago White Sox were accused of losing games intentionally and throwing the World Series. The players were acquitted by a Chicago jury, but the scandal led to the permanent ban of all eight players.
