    Born and raised in Los Angeles, LaBeouf decided to be an actor in 1993. He started out as a child stand-up comedian, playing local venues in Pasadena and neighborhoods bordering the downtown Los Angeles area.

    LaBeouf later got his first big break on the Disney Channel series Even Stevens. It was there that he met Jon Voight, who later became his mentor. Shia LaBeouf has been named one of the fastest-rising stars in Hollywood by magazines such as Entertainment Weekly and Interview magazine.
