  • She's The Man Reviews

    1. "The movie is good-natured and silly, and at the end there is a big soccer game between Illyria and Cornwall during which both Viola and the real Sebastian are able to offer proof of their genders, although when the PG-13 rating cites "nudity," I am compelled to report that the movie includes none of the naughty bits. As a famous playwright once wrote in "Twelfth Night," "Wherefore are those things hid?" &mash; Roger Ebert Review
    2. "As insistent as its heroine to get its point across, "She's the Man" gathers up enough energy and likeable goodwill that it almost skirts past some extremely strained passages in which Bynes plays out being a boy. While her perf rightly preserves Shakespeare's joke of her lapsing back from time to time into girlish behavior (with some added soccer-inflected jokes), Bynes exaggerates the boyishness into a cartoon that's not only too broad for the camera, but too much for any high school prep jock to take seriously." — Variety.com Review
    3. "The movie is clearly seeking to match the sassy froth of 10 Things I Hate About You, but it’s actually a hybrid between that and the forgotten camp of 1986’s Just One of the Guys – and who ever thought that would get a second incarnation on the big screen? And I don’t necessarily mean that as a slam – it may be guilty, but the pleasure and fun is certainly there, and if you were a fan of 10 Things, you’re likely to be taken with this one as well." — Filmcritic.com Review
