Sherri Goforth is the administrative assistant to Tennessee's Republican Senator Diane Black. On May 28, 2009, Goforth sent an email, with the subject "Historical Keepsake Photo," which featured a collage of all the American president's portraits with President Barack Obama's spot as just a black box with white eyes.
On June 17, 2009, it was reported that Diane Black had decided not to fire Goforth, but has issued a "strongly worded" reprimand.http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/06/17/gop-state-senate-aide-reprimanded-racist-obama-e-mail/
Admission of Guilt
Goforth admitted that she sent the e-mail, but said she accidentally sent it "to the wrong list of people." Tennessee's Democratic Party called on Senator Black to fire Goforth and called the e-mail a "bigoted attack on our President."http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/06/16/tennessee.email/index.html?eref=rss_mostpopular
