Shellshock Series
The Shellshock series of games were designed and marketed to give a gritty, realistic view of what it was really like to be part of the Vietnam War. The first game, Shellshock: Nam 67 was released in 2004 for the original Xbox, PS2 and PC, around the same time as another Vietnam game, Conflict: Vietnam.Wikipedia: Shellshock: Nam 67The first game sold nearly 1 million copies, but received mostly average reviews from critics, who felt the game's use of horror was just an excuse to include gratuitous violence and excessive blood and gore.
