ShellShock 2 is the second in the first-person shooter, survival-horror franchise that began in 2004. The game is set during the Vietnam War as special ops soldiers are tasked with recovering a top-secret shipment lost in the jungle. One by one, the soldiers begin to disappear without a trace. A month later, a surviving soldier makes his way out of the jungle, but he is unable to recount what happened to him. Something in the jungle has driven him insane...and has followed him out.

Lee Singleton, general manager of publisher Eidos Game Studios, has said that "at times [Shellshock 2] feels more like you're in a horror movie than a game."IGN: Shellshock 2 Announced For The Holidays (September 30, 2008) Due to its high levels of graphic violence, the game was banned in Australia.GameSpot: Shellshock 2 banned in Australia (June 29, 2008)
