Shekhar Kapur

Shekhar Kapur is an Indian director and producer best known for his Oscar-winning films Elizabeth and Elizabeth: The Golden Age. Kapur left his first career as an accountant behind to pursue film. He started his directing career in Bollywood with films such as Massom and Mr. India during the mid-1980s.

Before director Anthony Minghella passed away from cancer on March 18, 2008, he asked Kapur] to take over as the director of the film New York I Love You. Kapur agreed. Minghella wrote and intended to direct the film, which is a nod to the 2006 film Paris Je T'aime.
