Shawn Colvin is a female singer-songwriter best known for her song "Sunny Came Home" from the 1996 album A Few Small Repairs. Colvin won Song of the Year and Record of the Year Grammy Awards for both the song and album in 1998.
Career
Shawn Colvin began her career in the coffee shops and open mics of Austin, Texas. In 1987 Colvin got her big break singing back up for Suzanne Vega. After touring with Vega, Colvin cut and released her first major album Steady On.
Her first real success came in [1996]] when she released the album A Few Small Repairs and the single "Sonny Came Home". For both the album and the single Colvin won Grammy Awards.
