Shaun White is a professional snowboarder and skateboarder. He has competed in the X Games since 2002.
On March 21, 2009, White announced his withdrawal from the 2009 U.S. Snowboarding Championships, citing a severely sprained left ankle. He could have become the second person to win four-consecutive halfpipe titles with a win at the event.ESPN.com: Sprain Keeps White From Title Defense
At the 2010 Winter Olympics Shaun won the gold medal in the Olympic Men's Half-pipe event for the 2nd consecutive Olympics, he did so by posting a score of 48.4 after pulling off the first ever double flip, three-and-a-half spin Double McTwist 1260 in competition.
Snowboarding
Shaun White has been participating in the Winter X Games since 2002, winning a medal at the event each year. In total, White has won seven gold medals at the games.
In addition to his X Games success, White also won an Olympic gold medal in the men's halfpipe at the 2010 and 2006 Winter Olympics. He has won titles at the 2008 U.S. Open Snowboarding Championships and slopestyle competitions.Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour: Shaun White
2009-2010 Season
Shaun White has not let up heading into taking on the world in the 2010 Olympics. Shaun wanted to pull out all the stops and introduce new tricks to the snowboard world this year. He teamed up with Red Bull and a halfipipe was created that had snowboarding's first ever foam pit. This one-month training session, dubbed "Red Bull Project X" allowed White to practice new moves and leave with an arsenal of new tricks, including the first ever back-to-back double cork variations. in August 2009, he then debuted it at the Burton New Zealand Open. http://shaunwhite.com/bio/about/
Clothing Line and Video Game
In 2009, White debuted his own clothing line called Shaun White 4 Target. Shaun and his brother Jesse work together creating an affordable line of T-shirts, woven shirts, shorts and denim jeans for boys and young men. In addition to his clothing line, Shaun also partnered with Ubisoft on the development of his first video game. The game was released in 2008 and called Shaun White Snowboarding.
