According to a source close to ESPN, Rogers did not attend the team's off-season workout program in March of 2009. The absence is reportedly related to Rogers' rift with new Browns coach Eric Mangini. Prior to playing in the NFL, Rogers played college football with the Texas Longhorns. He played in 41 games, recording 199 tackles, including 53 tackles for a loss, 14 sacks and 54 quarterback pressures. Rogers earned All-Big 12 honors and finished his career third on the school's list for tackles for a loss. After college, he was selected 61st overall in the 2001 NFL draft by the Detroit Lions.
