Sharon Gless is an American actress. When CBS executives decided to replace actress Meg Foster in their 1980s drama Cagney and Lacey after 7 episodes, Gless was tabbed to fill the role opposite Tyne Daly. The series went to become one of the most watched of the decade, and Gless was rewarded with two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. She can currently be seen in the USA Network series Burn Notice. Other credits include: McCloud, The Bob Newhart Show, Switch, Emergency!, The Trials of Rosie O'Neill, Queer as Folk, and Nip/Tuck. In 1995, she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She actually began he career as a secretary for the advertising agency Grey Advertising, and then for Young & Rubicam. She was one of the last studio contract players when she signed with Universal Studios to a 10-year acting contract in 1974. In 1991, she married Barney Rosenzweig, a producer on Cagney & Lacey. Ironically, Rosenzweig had just divorced series creator Barbara Corday one year prior.
