Early Life
Shareef Abdur-Rahim was born on December 11, 1976 in Marietta, Georgia. He attended college at the University of California, Berkeley. In 1996, he was selected with the third pick in the NBA Draft by the Vancouver Grizzlies. NBA.com: Shareef Abdur-RahimPro Career
Abdur-Rahim played for the Grizzlies until 2001 when he was traded to the Atlanta Hawks for Brevin Knight, Lorenzen Wright and Pau Gasol. In 2004, Abdur-Rahim was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers with Dan Dickau for Rasheed Wallace and Wesley Person.
