Shannon Stewart is a Major League Baseball player. He is currently an outfielder for the Toronto Blue Jays.
Early Life
Shannon Harold Stewart was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on February 25, 1974. He attended Southridge High School. In 1992, Stewart was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays with the 19th pick in the Major League Baseball, amateur draft.
Pro Career
On September 2, 1995, Stewart made his MLB debut with the Toronto Blue Jays. In 2003, he was traded to the Minnesota Twins for Bobby Kielty. He recorded one of his best seasons that year, hitting .322 with six home runs and 38 runs batted in. In 2007, he signed with the Oakland Athletics. He appeared in 146 games for the A's and finished the season with a .290 batting average, 12 home runs and 48 runs batted in. In 2008, he signed with the Toronto Blue Jays as a free agent. On August 11, 2008, Stewart was released by the Toronto Blue Jays.
