Shannen Doherty

Shannen Doherty is an American actress. While her on-screen debut was the character of Jenny Wilder on the popular series Little House on the Prairie, it was her role as Brenda Walsh on the popular teen series Beverly Hills 90210 that gained her celebrity notoriety.

Doherty is reportedly dating photographer Kurt Iswarienko. According to Iswarienko's ex-mother in law, Debra Band, Doherty began dating the photographer while he was still married to her daughter, fashion designer Taryn Band. On March 22, 2010, Shannen Doherty and her partner Mark Ballas danced the Viennese Waltz on the premiere of Dancing with the Stars. She was dancing for her father, who has had a stroke and was in the audience. After the dance, she was in tears because of the look on her dad's face.

Overall, Doherty did well for her first dance, although her arms looked a bit awkward and stiff at times during the dance. The judges gave her a total score of 18 out of a possible 30. No one will be going home until after they complete their next dance on Monday, March 29. 2010.

On March 29, Shannen and Mark performed a jive. She loosened up and looked better than last week. The judges thought it was an improvement as well and she scored a 20 this week. Her combined judges total for the first two dances was a 38 out of a possible 60.

After the judge's votes and and the people's vote, the votes were tallied and Shannen was the first contestant to leave the show this season.

The daughter of a hair salon owner and a mortgage consultant, Doherty was raised Southern Baptist in Memphis. At the age of seven, she moved to Los Angeles with her family and decided she wanted to become an actress. As a little girl she guest starred on several shows such as Voyagers and Father Murphy and at the age of eleven landed her first series regular role on Little House on the Prairie.

In the mid 1990s, Doherty's career popularity grew as well as her appearances in tabloids. Doherty was sentenced to anger-management counseling in 1996 when she allegedly broke a beer bottle on the car of Corey Hanker. Two years prior, Doherty was taken off Beverly Hills 90210 after rumored conflicts with cast members. In 2001, she was charged with a DUI. It has been rumored that Doherty beat up previous boyfriend Dean Factor and had extremely short marriages to Ashley Hamilton and Rick Salomon.
