Shane O'Brien

Canadian professional hockey player Shane O'Brien plays for the Tampa Bay Lightning in the National Hockey League. In October of 2008, rumors began to circulate that O'Brien may be on the trading block.St. Petersburg Times: Lightning Defenseman O'Brien Could Be on Trading Block

O'Brien was drafted 250th overall in the 2003 NHL draft by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. He joined the Ducks' American Hockey League affiliates, the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks and the Portland Pirates, for three seasons before making his NHL debut with the Anaheim Ducks in 2006. On February 24, 2007, O'Brien was traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning. He renewed his contract with the Lightning on June 21, 2007, to stay with the franchise for two seasons.
