NHL Career
Doan was drafted seventh overall in the 1995 NHL draft by the Winnipeg Jets. He joined the Jets for his NHL debut that same year and played one season in Winnipeg before relocating with the franchise in 1996 as they became the Phoenix Coyotes. Doan was named captain of the Coyotes in 2003 and renewed his contract with the team in 2007. The contract is reportedly worth $22.75 million over five years.
