Shamrock Fest is a celebration of Saint Patrick's Day and a music festival held at the RFK Stadium Fest Grounds on the outside of Washington DC. It features bands both showcasing native Irish music, punk and hard rock. The date for the 2008 festival was Saturday, March 15.
History
The Washington DC Shamrock fest began as a small fesetival highlight local punk and Irish bands in the metro area. Over the years it has grown to a ten stage music extravaganza that takes up all of the RFK Stadium festival grounds and hosts thousands of people.
