Sexy Beast is a dramatic action film about a retired safecracker who is threatened by his mob mentor to do one last heist in London. The retiree, "Gal" (Ray Winstone) is living in domestic bliss with his ex-pornstar wife, when the menacing mobster "Don Logan" (Ben Kingsley) comes calling. The first part of the film involves Logan's maniacal campaign to get Gal on board, while the second part chronicles a bank robbery attempt. The film is laced with dark humor, including the "sexy beast" of the title—a giant, vicious rabbit that haunts Gal's dreams, something like an evil doppelganger to Jimmy Stewart's "Harvey." One notable aspect of the film's casting is the choice of Kingsley as Logan, the rogue gangster; most of his prior roles had been sympathetic ones (including Gandhi).
