Sexuality

The term sexuality has a wide variety of meanings that can include sexual behavior, human reproduction, a person's sexual orientation and sex. It can also be described as the state of being sexual, and often times its an aspect of desire for touch and caring. In health, sexuality can be linked to other concerns with ones body. Different opinions and explanations have been argued through literature on the topic of sexuality. According to philosopher Michel Foucault sexuality in the modern world is similar to criminality. In The History of Sexuality Foucault claims that both crime and sexuality have been objects for discipline in the last three centuries. Sexology is defined as the study of gender, but often times the field will research sexual function. Since 1988, research into gender and sexual practice have been categorized into sexology. This definition was amended by meetings held at the Post Graduate University. The meetings consisted of the teaching staff and post graduate students of the area of sexology in the school.
