The Serotonin-Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitor (SNRI) drug class is a group of antidepressants that act on the two neurotransmitters, serotonin and norepinephrine. This class of drugs is mostly prescribed to alleviate the symptoms of mood disorders, such as depression and anxiety.

- Common side effects: nausea, drowsiness, headache, changes in appetite, vivid dreams, sexual side effects
- SNRIs have been found to be more tolerable and efficacious than Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRI), probably due to the additional effect with norepinephrine
- Do not abruptly discontinue SNRI medications, this can lead to a discontinuation syndrome with disturbing symptoms of high anxiety
- These drugs are contraindicated in patients with hypertension, heart disease, or risk of stroke
