  • Early Years

    Zubov began his professional career in 1998 by joining the HC CSKA Moscow of the Russian Super League. In 1990, he was drafted 85th overall in the NHL draft by the New York Rangers. He continued to play in Russia for two seasons, including winning a gold medal in the 1992 Winter Olympics. Zubov made his NHL debut during the 1992-93 regular season, which he split between the Rangers and their American Hockey League affiliate. He joined the Rangers for 78 games during the 1993-94 regular season, concluding the year with a Stanley Cup Championship over the Vancouver Canucks. Shortly after the Stanley Cup celebrations ended, Zbuov was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins on August 31, 1995.
  • Recent Career

    Zubov played just one season with the Penguins, then was traded again on June 22, 1996, to the Dallas Stars. His play improved in Dallas, and Zubov was selected for his first of four NHL All-Star Game appearances. Zubov also won his second Stanley Cup Championship in 1999 with the Stars. He was later recognized for his play in 2006 as a nominee for the Norris Trophy for the NHL's best defenseman. More recently, Zubov missed the last half of the 2007-08 regular season with a broken foot.
