Serenity is a 2005 Science Fiction film about a group of space travelers who are forced to protect a mysterious passenger from the evil grip of The Alliance. Written and directed by Joss Whedon, the film is a continuation of the canceled Fox television series Firefly and takes place about two months after the events of the final episode. As the rare movie that was released after the show it was based on was canceled, Serenity was a critical success and opened at #2 in the box office.
