  • Speculation is surrounding Sarah Palin and what she will do now that the 2008 election is over. Palin may have a unique opportunity to join the Senate if Ted Stevens is elected to the Senate. As of November 7, 2008, Stevens is leading his opponent Mark Begich, but there are still absentee ballots to be counted. If Stevens holds onto his leads, he most likely, will not be welcome back in the Senate since he was convicted of a felony just before the election. In this case, Palin may have to call a special election as Governor to choose Senator Stevens' successor and the pundits say she could decide to stand in herself.
