SEMA, more formally known as the Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association, is an industry organization of over 7,000 automotive after-market accessory and related manufacturers. The SEMA show, open only to manufacturers and media representatives, is held annually in Las Vegas, Nevada, in late October or early November. It is held in conjunction with Automotive Aftermarket Industry Week.
Membership

SEMA Action Network
The SEMA Action Network seeks to influence legislation that affects its members. Legislative proposals being addressed in 2008 include working for a special classification for street vehicles in a number of states, opposition to a California bill that would have required pre-1976 cars to be subject to emissions testing requirements, and opposition to a proposal in Hawaii to tax vehicles based on engine size.
