Sean Taylor

  • Sean Taylor was a professional football free safety for the Washington Redskins. Taylor died on November 27, 2007, from gunshot wounds sustained during a robbery attempt in his home.

    Venjah Hunte, one of the suspects in Taylor's murder is seeking to withdraw his decision to accept a plea deal in the murder case. The deal would have required Hunte to serve 29 years in prison. Hunte's attorney is urging against the move, but Hunte is requesting a new court-appointed lawyer be assigned.     The Taylor murder trial was originally scheduled to commence on April 7, 2008, but was postponed until August 25, because neither set of attorneys was ready to proceed.   • Redskins Honors

    On November 30, 2008, the Washington Redskins inducted Taylor into the franchise's "Ring of Fame." The honor is reserved for Redskin franchise greats.
