Singletary attended University of Virginia where he majored in Sociology. He was a three time All-Atlantic Coast Conference First Team selection and three-time co-captain for the Cavaliers. He was named to All-ACC Freshman Team, All-ACC First Team and USBWA All-District First Team as a sophomore.
