Biography
Payton was hired as coach of the New Orleans Saints on January 6, 2006. Before getting a head coaching assignment, Payton was the quarterbacks coach with the Dallas Cowboys. Payton got his first job in coaching with San Diego State University, and then moved around the NCAA in various coaching positions. He landed his first job in the NFL as an offensive assistant with the New York Giants. -
