Coaching Career
Miller took his first coaching position as a graduate assistant in 1992 with the Wisconsin Badgers. He had brief coaching jobs over the next few years as an assistant with the Miami RedHawks, Pittsburgh Panthers and the NC State Wolfpack before coming to Xavier as an assistant coach in 2001.Xavier: Sean Miller
In 2004, Miller took over head caoching duties of the Xavier Musketeers from Thad Matta. He struggled a but his first season, leading the team to a 17-12 record, but came back in the 2005-2006 season with a 21-11 record, a Atlantic 10 Tournament championship and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament.Xavier: Sean Miller
The Musketeers continued to succeed under Miller's leadership, playing in the NCAA Tournament in both 2007 and 2008. The 2008 season went exceptionally well as they recorded a 30-7 record, with 14-2 in the Atlantic 10 Conference, and went all the way to the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament. Miller was selected as the Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year as well as the NABC District 10 Coach of the Year.Xavier: Sean Miller
