Sean Connery

The Scottish-born actor Sir Sean Connery achieved international fame when he became the first to play Ian Fleming's British super spy James Bond on film in the early 1960s. He starred in the first five Bond films and again in 1971's Diamonds Are Forever and the unofficial 1983 entry Never Say Never Again.

Connery is capable of turning in powerful performances outside of the action-adventure genre, as was evidenced by his Oscar-winning supporting performance in the crime drama The Untouchables. But especially later in his career, he found his most consistent success with action films that included The Hunt for Red October with Alec Baldwin, The Rock with Nicolas Cage, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, where he delivered an enjoyable performance as Indiana Jones' dad.
