Life and Career
Sean Combs was born in Harlem, New York. His father, Melvin Combs was killed in a shooting when he was three. Melvin worked with Frank Lucas, on whom the movie American Gangster is based.
Combs attended the Mount Saint Michael Academy and then Howard University for college, but dropped to pursue a career as a music producer. His first big client was the late Notorious B.I.G., with whom he created an empire that promotes clothing, television shows, restaurants and movies.
Combs has also recorded solo albums as a rapper, with his most recent, "Press Play", receiving moderately positive reviews with its dance music influenced sound.
