Life and Career
Sean Astin was born in Santa Monica, California and is the son of Patty Duke and John Astin who are both actors.He made his debut on the big screen at age thirteen in the film Goonies' (1985). His next big role came in (1993)) with Rudy, in which he played the title role.
He was launched into super stardom with his appearance in The Lord of the Rings Film Series as Samwise Gamgee. He has stated his support for Hillary Clinton's 2008 presidential bid.
