SDSU Drug Bust

  • May 6, 2008: Police in San Diego raided San Diego State University and arrested 96 people, 75 of them students, on drug related charges.

    After the five month undercover investigation (code named Operation Sudden Fall), drugs, cash and guns were recovered from sellers and buyers in the bust.

    SDSU suspended six fraternities after the raid. Members of three of the university's fraternities are under arrest on suspicion of drug dealing.

    The lengthy investigation was prompted by the cocaine overdose death last year of Jenny Poliakoff, a freshman sorority member. A second drug-related death occurred during the investigation.
