Scrooged is a 1988 film starring Bill Murray and Karen Allen, which is loosely based on Charles Dickens' famous book, A Christmas Carol.
In the film, Bill Murray plays "Frank Cross", a TV executive and high class snob. Frank falls asleep one night and is visited by the ghosts of his past, present and future. During these encounters, Frank realizes that the things he has been valuing for so many years, such as success, money and high ratings, aren't really all that important. He also rekindles his love for his old sweetheart, "Claire Phillips" (played by Karen Allen), and tries to find a way to win her back into his life.
Scrooged was directed by Richard Donner, written by Mitch Glazer and Michael O'Donoghue, and produced by Richard Donner and Art Linson. The film's music was composed by Danny Elfman.
