Preparing Scrapple
Scrapple usually consists of leftover parts from a hog such as the head, heart, and liver. When cooking, scrapple is cut into slices, then fried in a pan until it browns and forms a crust on it. It can also be deep fried or pan fried in butter. Scrapple is usually served for breakfast and can be topped with syrup or ketchup. It is also a common accompaniment to eggs. Some regions like New England mix scrapple in with scrambled eggs.
